2025年2月4日（火）、筑波大学キャリア支援チーム主催の博士学生向け企業訪問ツアーに参加しました。今回の訪問先は、デジタルアートやインタラクティブ技術を活用した作品で若者たちに高い注目を集めているチームラボ株式会社でした。午前中は本社にて企業説明を受け、午後には六本木の展覧会を見学しました。

まずは、チームラボ株式会社の本社を訪れました。担当者の方から、チームラボの理念、職種紹介、業務内容、また現在進行中のプロジェクトについて詳しくお話を伺いました。特に、テクノロジーとアートの融合による新たな価値創造の取り組みが印象的でした。また、博士課程出身の社員の方からも、実際の就職経緯や現在取り組んでいる業務内容について詳しくお話を聞くことができました。質疑応答では、私たちが関心のある就職準備と研究の両立について詳しく伺いました。研究生活の中で培われる専門スキルやコミュニケーション能力など、分野を超えて活用できるスキルを強みにすることが、企業とのマッチングを高めるために重要であると改めて感じました。また、多様な分野の学生が参加する中で、異分野での活躍の可能性についても、今回の見学を通じて具体的にイメージすることができました。

午後には、六本木にあるチームラボボーダーレスを訪れました。デジタルアートの極致とも言える幻想的な空間と演出は非常に印象的で、今回の企業見学の最大のハイライトの一つでした。光をただ“見る”だけでなく、楽しみ、没入できるこの体験は、想像以上で、言葉にできないほど感動しました。まるで新しい世界に足を踏み入れたような感覚です。今回の企業訪問を通じて、私たち自身の新たな可能性に気づくことができました。

On February 4, 2025 (Tue.), I participated in a company visit tour for PhD students organized by the Career Support Team at the University of Tsukuba. This time, we visited teamLab Inc., a company that’s been making waves with its digital art and interactive technology, especially among younger audiences. In the morning, we went to their headquarters for a company briefing, and in the afternoon, we checked out their exhibition in Roppongi.

Our first stop was teamLab’s headquarters, where we got an overview of their philosophy, job roles, business operations, and ongoing projects. What stood out the most was how they are blending technology with art to create new forms of expression—a truly unique and inspiring approach.

We also had the chance to hear from an employee with a PhD background, who shared their career journey and current work. During the Q&A, we talked about balancing research with job hunting, which is a big concern for many of us. One key insight was how the skills we develop during our PhDs—whether technical expertise or communication abilities—can be valuable across different industries. This visit really helped us see how our abilities can translate beyond academia.

In the afternoon, we visited teamLab Borderless in Roppongi, and honestly, it was one of the biggest highlights of the day. The whole place was just breathtaking—it’s not just art you look at, but something you step into, interact with, and experience firsthand. It felt like stepping into an entirely different world, and the level of immersion was beyond anything I had imagined. This visit made us realize new career possibilities we hadn’t considered before.
